weatherworks

This series is one of the oldest in my work as an artist. It began in the 1990s, and I continue to make revisions through this year, 2026.

In weatherworks, I explore contemplative or meditative states. The titles indicate nature as a point of reference, although I refer to inner states as “weather” too. Aspects in nature such as light, space, and ambiance are connected to both the internal and external landscape. The layers reveal and obscure each other with the medium of pencil and paper.

Feelings and states of mind may be communicated, specific as a phrase of music or a poem. My hope is that the viewer may find a response within, that connects us on a level beyond the mundane.
